Tips and Tricks
Did your tooth come out?
Place the tooth back in the socket if possible as your saliva can help preserve the tooth. If you aren’t able to do so, put the tooth in milk to in a product approved with the ADA seal. Call Pitman Dental and schedule an appointment as soon as possible!
Cracked tooth?
Wash your mouth carefully with water to remove debris and blood. You may use a gauze to control the bleeding and protect the damaged tooth. Bring any pieces that broke off to your dental appointment.
Damaged prosthetics?
If you experience any sort of discomfort or pain from wearing your prosthetic appliance such as partial/full dentures, give us a call so we can provide necessary adjustments. We want to make sure you feel comfortable. Damaged appliances may cause irritation on your teeth and gums.
Toothache?
First, make sure that the area where the pain is coming from is clean. Floss or brush out any debris that can cause further irritation. If the area is infected, swish warm salt water. You can also take over-the-counter pain medication to alleviate the pain until you come in for your appointment. Make sure you give us a call right way to assess the situation and get you out of pain immediately.
